RICHARD GREY ft BOB MARLEY – NO DEPUTY

RELEASE DATE – AUGUST TBC

REMIXES: JOHN JACOBSON AND TOMAS HEDBERG & TUCILLO

LABEL - PACHA RECORDINGS

After reworking Soft Cell’s ‘Tainted Love’ last year to fantastic effect, Richard Grey steps up once more to take on another all-time classic - on this occasion giving the legendary Bob Marley single ‘I Shot the Sheriff’ a timely re-rub with his new single ‘No Deputy’.

The ‘New F&W Radio Edit’ helps itself to lashings of the Bob Marley original and spreads the summer vibe all over a funky house backing with a huge hip-shaking bassline for maximum club and radio appeal. Expect to hear this cut right across the airwaves in the coming months and beyond!

The ‘Dub Vocal’ maintains the radio edit’s broad appeal but with a healthy dose of twisted filter action and a signature Richard Grey bassline. If you’re looking for a track to instantly take the roof of a party this summer then slip this on and watch the dancefloor erupt.

John Jacobsen’s mix has a slightly tougher, electronic feel while still injecting heavy doses of funk on the source material. The vocals are reduced to bite-sized snippets and scattered amongst lo-fi synths and a shuffling bassline that wiggles its way throughout.

Tomas Hedburg & Tuccillo’s mix is a different beast entirely that takes an altogether deeper and more subtle route. Tribal tones and percussive elements mingle alongside blissful pads that give the tune a quality late night feel.

It’s no easy task to take on a classic of this magnitude but yet again Richard Grey proves his ability to construct records that simply shake a dancefloor to its very core. The track is also featured on Richard Grey upcoming Perceptions of Pacha album, released 28th July through Pacha Recordings.
