BURGAS, BULGARIA
www.spiritofburgas.com

SPIRIT of Burgas is an exiting new festival in Bulgaria, that will take place on the beautiful Black Sea coast from the 15-17 August 2008.  Situated on the inviting white sands of the city’s central beach, SPIRIT of Burgas will be a celebration of music and arts that will showcase the country’s finest artists and musicians alongside a variety of top international talent. Acts confirmed so far include Pharaohe Monch, The Sisters of Mercy, Grove Armada DJ Set (Andy Cato), Pendulum (DJ Set) & MC Jakes, Asian Dub Foundation live, Bonobo live, and very special local promoters including Metropolis and HMSU nights, plus many more…

SPIRIT of Burgas will be the first event of its kind in the country, offering six performance arenas and a diverse range of artists and performances covering all genres of music. And if that isn’t enough there will be stunning views of the festival and the Black Sea coastline that stretches for 20km.

MTV European are one of the events official media partners. They will make a SPIRIT of Burgas festival special that will be broadcast on their European feed and feature exclusive behind the scenes coverage from this year’s newest and much anticipated festival in South East Europe.  The festival will also partner with the MTV Europe Foundation (a registered UK charity) and its MTV EXIT (End Exploitation and Trafficking) campaign. MTV EXIT works to raise awareness and increase prevention of human trafficking and exploitation, and empowers young people to keep control of their futures.

Under the patronage of the Mayor of Burgas, Mr. Dimitar Nikolov, the event aims to embrace contemporary culture and the arts and provide entertainment for local residents and holiday makers as well as providing a creative outlet for the people of Bulgaria, be it musicians, artists or unusual performances.

The City’s desire to embrace contemporary culture and the arts makes Burgas the perfect location as the home of SPIRIT of Burgas Music Festival.  Located on the stunning Black Sea coast of Bulgaria, Burgas is the country’s fourth largest city being home to 250,000 residents.  In the summer months the city swells to around 500,000 as the unique combination of sea, sun and nature make Burgas a favourite destination for holiday makers.
