“Because it’s a fun, loud, unique and mischievous festival with added snowballs on top and there’s no mud or a single porta-loo in sight!” Kissy Sell Out
TignesFest is the Fresh New Music Festival in The Alps... And it's FREE!
With only four weeks left to the big event, the snow is falling and the skis and boards have been waxed as one of the world’s highest ski resorts gets ready to welcome the world to TignesFest – a festival that prides itself in showcasing the cream of fresh, new European musical talent for FREE!
Running from 16-19th April, TignesFest features everything from live bands to DJs and exclusive acoustic sets and forms a close-knit community of artists and revellers. It’s also a long weekend of skiing, snowboarding, socialising and sounds for the discerning and curious who like to experience something outside of the norm.
Featuring a unique selection of DJ’s and bands that are set to tantalize and dazzle this year, the full line up has been now been confirmed. Emerging pop man Frankmusik, Jackbeats, Dark Frenchmen Midimidi’s, local boys 5Amouri, Great Britain’s The Losers and Spain’s Pablo Decoder (also appearing later on as dark alter-ego The Death Kit) will all be appearing. Also, fresh from promoting debut album, Kissy Sell Out will also take to the stage, alongside hotly-tipped Danimal Kingdom. The much anticipated fancy dress closing party is being hosted by none other than the crazy White Wedding team, whose wedding-themed antics and sing-along great classic tracks will ensure the night- like any great wedding- raucous and not be forgotten. For those of a more discerning nature there is even Opera by emerging talent Leslie Davis
Curating the show once again are radio broadcasters from the UK’s top radio stations; Eddy Temple Morris (XFM), and Kissy Sell Out (R1) who have pulled in some artists/acts that are sure to excite and intrigue. Last year XFM’s Eddy Temple Morris recorded the live show from TignesFest on Friday 18th April and broadcast back to the UK a week later.
‘It is an honour to be one of the Curators of TignesFest. We are all passionate about music and passionate about helping new and up and coming acts get the recognition they deserve, and TignesFest provides a very unique platform for showcasing incredible musicians in a breathtaking setting. I am excited to once again be able to highlight acts I think are fantastic, plus discover other new ones along the way’ Kissy Sell Out
If that wasn’t enough, Base Camp, the Official Travel Partner for the TIgnesFest plans to create a Ski & Snowboard Test for small independent manufacturers and a series of snowsport competitions for seasonaires from resorts within the Savoie, France during the festival.
‘We are inviting teams from Val d'Isere, Tignes, Ste Foy, Les Arcs, La Plagne, Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens to see who are the true Savoyard champions in disciplines such as moguls, slopestyle, skier cross, boarder cross and big air’ Base Camp Director, Fergie Miller explains.
As a result, TignesFest has the support not only of key broadcasters in the UK, but will also host a live broadcast on Tignes Radio and post cast on Radio FG (FR) and Radio Rabe (CHF). With many years radio and music experience under their belts, the curators have been instrumental in developing their respective music genres and finding new and exciting artists whilst supporting the industry’s key DJs and musicians. And why should we don our ski-jackets and salopettes this April?
