In Brief; Dave Jones is a London-based DJ and promoter taking great strides in establishing himself within the global House Music scene. Having played at some of London’s premier clubs alongside some of the biggest names in house music including Kenny ‘Dope’ Gonzales, Tony Humphries, Todd Terry, Kerri Chandler, Marshall Jefferson, Terry Hunter, Robert Owens, Larry Heard, Joey Negro, Jay-J, Miguel Migs, CJ Mackintosh, Jon Cutler, Alix Alvarez and Franck Roger, Dave is making his first forays into production, indicating the sky is the limit for this multi-talented young artist.

Dave’s background; Born in Brisbane, Australia, Dave grew up around music; his dad was a disco DJ in Sydney throughout the 1970s and his family were all music lovers, meaning it wasn’t long before Dave too found himself with ‘the bug’. Settling in London 18 years ago, Dave began buying vinyl in the early 90s because, as he explains, ‘It was really the only format to buy quality house music on then’.

‘There were a couple of comps back then, namely the United DJs of America series and MOS Sessions, but vinyl was really the only format to satisfy the hunger,’ he says. 

Dave soon bought his first set of decks and, upon learning the ropes at a house party where his friend was spinning, jumped head-first into perfecting his DJing abilities.

This early hard work paid off and Dave soon secured his first residency, a 5-hour set each Sunday which provided Dave with vital experience in learning how to both warm up and rock a crowd which lasted weekly for 3 years. 

Getting started; Keen to further increase his profile within London’s notoriously tough club scene, Dave soon became involved in promoting various house events throughout the capital and has enjoyed substantial success for his efforts. After promoting Robert Owens’ successful ‘Journeys’ night at The Egg and Neighbourhood’s ‘One Starry Night’ events, Dave launched his own bi-weekly night at Sosho in East London. Since the launch of ‘Weekending’ in September 2004, the nights popularity with London’s deep and soulful house scene demanded it move weekly which carried on for 4 ½ years before ending early 2009. 

Now; As MN2S (Milk’n’ 2 Sugars) Events Manager, Dave’s 9-5 has him traveling the world playing at the hottest clubs with the biggest artists. From London – Ibiza, Amsterdam to Miami stopping everywhere in between!
