Timo Maas Tiefschwarz

www.timomaas.com www.myspace.com/tiefschwarz

Timo Maas first began producing records in the '80s, but his first record The Final XS was not released until 1995. The Final XS did not sell well, and Maas himself even called it "cheesy". His second record release was with another producer, Gary D, with Die Herdplatte, which was a bigger success than his first album. Gary D also gained Maas a residency at Hamburg's famous club, The Tunnel, between 1994 and 1996. Maas also began to release records through record-labels such as Hope Recordings, both under his own name and the alias Orinoko. Maas has also recorded under many aliases such as Mad Dogs and many others. In 2000 Timo Maas began a residency alongside Deep Dish at the New York club Twilo. Maas first became popular in mainstream dance music through his remix of Azzido Da Bass' Doom's Night. After producing one mix album called Connected with Paul Oakenfold's imprint Perfecto Maas released his own debut album Loud in 2002. In 2005 Maas released his second personal album, Pictures, featuring guest artists Kelis, Neneh Cherry and Placebo's Brian Molko. His "To Get Down" track has been widely used in movie soundtracks such as the 2003 remake of The Italian Job (2003 film), Riders in 2002, as well as other mediums such as the video game, FIFA Football 2003, and a Budweiser beer commercial. Another of his tracks "Unite" appears in the Fifa 2004 soundtrack. On the popular video game The Sims 2: Nightlife, a remix of the Neighbourhood screen music is credited to him.

Tiefschwarz Ali and Basti Schwarz - brothers and music lovers, created Tiefschwarz out of a passion garnered since 1990 from their first experiences as DJs at the now legendary clubs that Ali ran in Stuttgart "ON -U" (1990 - 1993) and "Red Dog" (1993 - 1997). These experiences and their obsession with the music they were hearing from within and across the German border, encouraged them to make the step from DJ to producer. In 2002 Classic also released Ali & Basti's mix album "A Little Help For Your Friends" and their DJing career reached new heights with tours in Australia, the USA as well as gigs as far afield as Brazil and Russia. 2003 saw the brothers up sticks and move to the creative capital of Berlin where they set up a new studio. Continuing their burgeoning career as remixers (with previous greats such as their reworks of Masters at Work, Ultra Naté, Boogie Solitaire, Freaks, Isolee, Groove Armada) Ali and Basti went on to remix the likes of The Rapture, Cassius, Spektrum, Micatone, Lost & Alive, Lopazz, Osunlade, Minimal Compact, Trüby Trio, DJ Hell, Kelis, and Missy Elliott. The majority of 2004 and 2005 was spent juggling a high profile DJing career, whilst writing and producing their second and long awaited album 'Eat Books'. The first single from the album 'Isst was released in 2005 and was voted one of the best singles of the year by Trax and DJ magazine. 2006 was a big year for remixes, amongst other things. Three high profile mixes of Depeche Mode 'John The Revelator', Madonna's 'Get Together', Roxy Music's 'Rain Rain Rain' and Booka Shade's 'Darko'. Additionally, they released 2 mix albums - one for the outstanding Fabric series and the other in conjunction with the Time Warp festival in Germany. 2006 was also the year that Tiefschwarz began their own label - SOUVENIR. The first release of course was a Tiefschwarz track called 'Hey', under a different moniker of 'Ichundu' which prompted fellow DJs and the press to conclude that Tiefschwarz were once again at the top of their league.

Adam Beyer Michel De Hey

www.drumcode.se www.micheldehey.com

Adam Beyer (born 1976 in Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish techno producer and DJ. He is the founder of Drumcode Records, Truesoul Records, Code Red Recordings and Mad Eye Rec. He is one of several Swedish techno artists to emerge in the mid 1990's along the likes of Cari Lekebusch, Joel Mull, Jesper Dahlback, Alexi Delano and more. Im taking influences from what I think is interesting and new and doing something that is me and my way of looking at it. This change has also filtered into his DJ sets. Known globally for his more punishing, looped up techno mastery, Beyer has also infused his more stripped down productions into the flow of his deck manipulation.

Michel de Hey must be seen as one of the people who took responsibility for dance music and its direction in Rotterdam. With his talent both as a producer and as a DJ, Michel opened the door to techno and tech house for a lot of people. Over the years Michel succeeded to get a solid reputation abroad through his excellent DJ performances at clubs, parties and festival events across the globe. His DJ career kicked of in 1986 and with his first recording release 'Break' he entered the Top 10 of the US Billboard Dance Charts. Since then, Michel de Hey developed his funky techno sound to what it is today. Many times Michel has been nominated for national dance awards such as the LSDA Awards, the TMF Nokia Awards and the Update Dance Awards. Michel de Hey has won the award for Best Techno DJ of the Netherlands last December for the fourth time!

Billy Nasty

www.myspace.com/djbillynasty

Now based in Brighton, but with dates immediately forthcoming all over the world, Billy's keen to make his presence felt at home in the UK. We live in exciting times for electronic music and Nasty's regular performances at Fabric reminded him lately of his ever-changing role. 'Fabric know I can come up with a valid contemporary angle,' he explains, 'I play techno, minimal and electro but I'm at my happiest fluctuating between styles, a million miles away from that bang-bang unforgiving techno'.

Indeed, Billy's sophisticated recent single with Gregor Tresher, 'The Mad Real World', was Electro Single of the Month in Mixmag, referred to as the future of electro. He's also been hooking up with fresh Serbian talent Marko Nastic and releases his debut under his own name, 'Imperfections', ..punk, label of electro kingpin Anthony Rother who Billy tours with when he plays live. From Alkan to Vath, electro is now club land's cutting edge and it's a sound Billy knows backwards. 'Its time,' he points out, 'for the more open-minded DJs of my generation to evolve'.

James Ruskin Oliver Koletzki

www.myspace.com/jamesruskin2006 www.myspace.com/koletzki

James Ruskin A lot has happened in the six years since James Ruskin’s third studio album ‘Into Submission’ (Tresor, 2001) hit the ground like a dancefloor wrecking ball. Computers have become studios, digital downloading has revolutionised the music industry and the boundaries between rock and dance music have become increasingly blurred. Similarly, in the same period Ruskin has rebuilt his studio, started a family and suddenly last year lost his best friend and Blueprint co-founder, Richard Polson. Taking stock of all these experiences and developments brings us to a new composition that is a huge step in Ruskin’s musical development and fitting testament to the inspiration and life of a close friend. Forming a massive leap in sound that joins the dots between his previous dancefloor savvy material with intricate basslines, beautiful melodies and hypnotic rhythms, ‘The Dash’ is the mark of an artist in full control of his sound.

Oliver Koletzki DJ, Live artist & label owner of Stil Vor Talent & Flash Recordings, based in Berlin. It sounds like a fairy tale. In 2005 29-year old Oliver Koletzki presses 500 copies of his underground hit „Der Mückenschwarm“. One of those white labels lands in Sven Väth’s record bag and whenever he plays the track, people go wild. Shortly after that, Mr. Väth signs the track for a release on his techno empire Cocoon with remixes by David K, Olivier Berger, Pig & Dan und Dominik Eulberg.

In September 2009 he we'll release his second album!

Tok Tok vs Soffy 'O live!

www.toktok.org www.myspace.com/toktokvssoffyo www.soffyo.de

TokTok is a project of the artists Nerk, Anton Waldt, C14 and Fabian Feyerabendt from the german techno capital Berlin. At the moment, Toktok has slimmed down to the artists Nerk aka Benjamin Weiss & Fabian Feyerabendt with some occasional joining of Stefan Kuechenmeister. In the beginning of the new century

Toktok met Soffy O and they teamed up to form Toktok vs. Soffy O. Their first track together “Missy

Queen ´s Gonna Die” was a huge club hit and resulted in a deal with East West / Warner Music.

After releasing their second big hit “Day Of Mine” and the album “Toktok vs Soffy O”, winning the German Dance Award and three years of intense touring all over Europe, Russia and Japan, the three decided to take

a little break but continue to play together outside germany.

Märtini Brös live & dj team! Karotte

www.maertinibroes.de www.djkarotte.de

Märtini Brös The artists behind Maertini Broes are DJ Cle and Mike Vamp from Berlin/Germany. Both can be seen as pioneers of the electronic music movement in Germany since its early days end of the eightees. Both are influential DJs with international value and combined forces and abilities in 1998 to found the project Maertini Broes, which, within 10 years has developed to one of the most interesting dance projects to date. Love the machines underlined once more what everyboday knew anyway: The Maertini Broes are definitively one of the most interesting acts and producers. There is no need to categorise their music as they always sound NOW. They will partecipate at Enimgatica Festival 2009 with two different performances: live & dj team!

Karotte The name of the artist of the moment is permanently blasted on the radio, shown TV and omnipresent in every musically related magazine, in other words, simply everywhere. Peter Cornely aka Karotte, born 1969 in Saarbrücken, is a prime example for such a phenomenon. Over the last two decades the German entertainer has worked himself to the top. Not necessarily as a producer, but as a worldwide revered DJ. Achieving this distinguished position by purely giving 100% each and every night at clubs all around the globe.

Eric Fischer vs Mike Vinyl

www.myspace.com/djericfischer www.myspace.com/djmikevinyl

Eric Fischer His musical alteration underlines eric fischer's musical advancement. 20 years of DJ-ing

strongly affect his performances. His style reaches from minimal house over electronic tech-house

to souly-groovy techno. Dramatic and thrilling is how his long-lasting dj performances are set up.

Especially the "morning show" is the perfect time for Eric to introduce the crowd to his sensitive but

still kicking tunes.

Mike Vinyl With the tender age of only 13 Mike had his debut in performing as DJ. Contemporary

artists, specifically, pop groups like Depeche Mode and Human League as well as hip hop bands like

EPMD and 2 live Crew, to just name a few, became his idols. They would lead Mike into the fascinating

universe of music, opening up the entire spectrum of the unlimited dimensions of electronic music to

his creative exploration.

Paolo Barbato

www.paolobarbato.com www.paolomartini.net

Paolo Barbato His special taste for what «it is» and what «is not» is reflecting all around his sounds, his production and the events he's co-ordinating and promoting. His studio works are issued through labels as Warner, Universal, Crystal and Global Underground. «I will continue to share my passion for music with people through my dj-ing and through my music projects» - he says - «'cause that's the reason why I became a dj».- So we can expect some more quality music from Paolo Barbato and hope he will never stop surprising us with his dj-ing...

Shadow Sync is the project launched by Leinad and MaxVu, djs with years of experience in north-eastern Italy, and Edoardo Arengi aka Unity, sound designer and drum&bass producer. They are rooted into underground culture and computer music, iridescent worlds they explored for over ten years. They travel around led by a minimal techno beat, with incursions into hypertechnologized tribal territories. They develop structures where rhythm accents move and pulse, following the evolution of sound, searching for its origin and destination.

Ian F After a decade of successful sound blending Ian F maintains the status of one of the most fresh-sounding deejays around. Being introduced to the art of music improvisation at an early age and heavily indulging on alternative art as a teenager, he continued to nurse this passion even more after becoming a deejay. Ian F is co-founder of Flow Management agency and a long time resident deejay of the famous club Ambasada Gavioli. He’s dedicated to spread his eclectic art of noise even further in the forthcoming months.

www.myspace.com/viragevisuals

Virage Visuals They promote and develop techniques for electrical assembly during live musical events linked the electronic kind. The basic concept, from which such artistic discussions are developed, is that a moving image can not only be projected during a musical performance, but can be integrated, as a kind of filmic translation of the musical event, a sort of visual interpretation conceived of and developed by a videomaker with the collaboration of the musicians. In this way a kind of visual interpretation is conceived and developed by a videomaker with the input of the musicians.

How to come

1. BY AIR

The nearest international airports are Brnik (Slovenia near Ljubljana) and Ronchi (Italy – Trieste, Friuly Venezia Giulia). Slovenia's national carrier Adria Airways offers regular schedule flights to most major European cities. Ljubljana is linked to Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, Zurich, Brussels, Paris, Barcelona, London, Dublin, Manchester, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Moscow, Split, Skopje, Sarajevo, Tirana, Tel Aviv, Istanbul, Podgorica, Prague, Priština and others. Trieste Ronchi airport has 3 connections every day with Munchen and one with London, Rome, Paris, Brussels, Milan, ….

2. BY CAR
You can best get to know a country if you visit it by car. You can reach Slovenia via one of the border crossings with Italy, Austria, Hungary or Croatia, or you can rent a car in one of our car rental agencies. Slovenia’s highways are good and clearly signposted, beside the roads you will find rest stops, inns with overnight accommodation, and motels.

Don’t forget to buy the “vignette” in all our gas stop for drive in our higway!!

3. RAIL TRAVEL
Almost every important tourist destination is served by modern and comfortable trains. Connections abroad are also excellent: you can come to Slovenia on direct lines from  Italy, Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Yugoslavia and Macedonia.
Train travel is convenient and inexpensive. There's a railway station in Koper connecting to different places in Slovenia. From the railway station in Ljubljana.

4. MARITIME TRAVEL
Vessels arriving in the territorial waters of Slovenia from abroad may land only at the docks of the international border crossings in Koper, Piran and in Izola (seasonal border crossing). Upon mooring the vessel, the vessel, its crew, and the passengers must be registered with the border authorities. The following documents are needed for the procedure: the original documents for the vessel (proof of ownership of the vessel or authorization for its use), the captain's certificate of qualification to operate the vessel
and identity documents of people on the vessel.

5. BY BUS
It is also possible to reach Slovenia from neighbouring countries by bus. International bus transport is well organized and relatively inexpensive. The timetables and other information can be found at the web address.
There are buses going every 20-30 minutes between Koper to Piran, stopping in many places on the Slovene coast. The buses from/to Trieste are coming/arriving on italian working days from tuesdey to Saturday. There are direct bus connections to many places in Slovenia, to towns on croatian istria and to Zagreb.
