1. We know you just set up shop in a warehouse studio in Massachusetts. How has that transition been?
"It's been awesome! I miss NYC but I have so much more space up here, it's also really quiet and I've been a lot more creative. At first I was really nervous about the impact of leaving NYC, but I think being more creative up here will make up for the loss of having 24hr access to the coolest cafes and clubs etc. I have a show coming up at Sullivan Room NYC on September 19th so I'm back in the city a lot anyways."
2. The response to the rap chop and your other video remixes has been overwhelmingly massive. How has that played into the projects your working on, and how you approach making music?
"I think everything I put out from now on will be a music video of some sort, I can't imagine doing it another way now. I think after years and years of making dance tunes, I needed to challenge myself more. Youtube is a great outlet for creativity. It's a fairly democratic process on there, if the people like it, they decide, and if not, they decide. The album I'm releasing is being featured on Youtube release by release, then we'll bundle it up into a mix and we'll be releasing the remixes to the Beatports of the world."
3. How has it been performing with BACARDI B-LIVE? Any fave moments?
"The B-LIVE events were amazing, I played the Boston, New Orleans, and Phoenix shows and all of them were packed. It was great playing / opening for Matt & Kim, Jazzy Jeff & A-Trak; they are amazingly talented."
4. You're super active online...with YouTube, Twitter feed, etc. Tell us how your online presence/activity fits in with your day-to-day life as a dj/producer.
"My entire life is online, and I'm always thinking of new ways to expand it. It's sort of sad in a way, since I never leave my computer or iPhone... but at the same time I embrace it because it's a virtual world these days."
5. With BACARDI B-LIVE, you shared the bill with some cool talent (i.e. DJ Jazzy Jeff, Matt & Kim, etc.). Did you make any new friends?
"Absolutely. It was my first time meeting all those guys and an honor as well. One thing about the B-LIVE events, all of the artists were distinguished and unique. Everybody had their own thing going on and the contrast was electrifying."
