Since 15 years Monika Kruse has been bringing the dancefloors from Chicago via Berlin to Tokyo to boil. Furthermore she is pushing her idea of Techno-Funk as producer, party promoter and label owner. Her motivation is straight and sweeping “Music makes me happy!“Consistently she subordinates all her other activities, like her career as a model, which she started as a 4-year-old advertising for a german childrens food product, but, that suddenly ended. „My agency kicked me out cause I only showed up for castings, when I ran out of money for vinyl.“Native of Berlin she has been taking part in the development of electronic dance music in Germany since 1991. First as a resident DJ at the Parkcafe and as a member of the legendary Ultraschall crew in Munich, since the middle of the 90ies she has also become an international booked  DJ.In the meantime she has moved her homebase back to Berlin, her DJ skills are requested and admired from clubs and raves from all over the globe.From a residency at belgiums Fuseclub to illegal raves or representing German Dance Culture for the Goethe Institute up to japans monster rave WIRE.Her second career as a party promoter also staretd in Munich, where she realised amongst parties at the Ultrashall, also events in trains and on military drill grounds.Her energy level is related to natural disasters.  When Monika is behind the decks you can expect flooded dance floors flaming monitor speakers and rotating tanks.Just recently the berlin night life has stared to benifit from her regular Electric Avenue Recordings partys.As a producer she marched through since 1995 with many releases on labels she feels close with and on her on labels, cooperations, own compositions and remixescalled their attention.With “Latin Lovers“ she released an ambitious highlevel summerhit in 2003.As if this is not enough, Monika Kruse has also been restless running two labels. Since 2000 Terminl M records has been putting out high quality techno (amongst others DJ Rush, Miss Kittin and Patrick Lindsey). In 2003 she started Electric Avenue Recordings - 1st as a more minimal experimental label fo the homebase, now with a international reputation for quality dance music thanx to releases by Tobi Neumann, Märtini Brös, Liebe Ist Cool, Tony Rohr and Toni Vokado...

BRENDA RUSSELL ON TEST RECORDS | UK

BRENDA started her DJ`ing  cariere 1991. She has performed at various club nights & events around the world. UK gigs have included Fabric,Universe Voyager, Ultimate Base, Open to Torture, Lost and Atomic Jam. Her first international booking was at ite Oxa club Switzerland, where she has the honour of being the first female DJ to play at the venue. Other gigs have included the MAYDAY event, The Omen and Tresor (Germany), Rex club (France), Twilo (USA), Biosphere (Austria), Exit festival (Yugoslavia), Design of Love (with Carl Cox , Slovenia) to name a few.  She also performed at various events in; Israel, Canada, Japan, South Corea, Spain, Greece, Italy, Russia, Slovakia, Croatia, Turkey, Portugal, Hungary, Bosnia.Between 1994- 1998 Brenda worked at the PHUTURE TRAX. A few of the projects she worked on were Carl Cox`s FACT 1 compilation,(which she was awarded BP disc for sales of over 100.000 copis), Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier, The Advent, Steve Stoll and Slam.Her contribution to the scene and determination to succeed led her to compile 4 compilation albums ( Biosphere 2/00, Miroi/99, Techno Nations 8/98, Inovators/95). Determinated to push new boundaries, she started a new record label project ON_TEST  in 2000 ( www.ontest.co.uk), to help promote unknown, up and coming, as well as established producers.

Influenced by events such as apokalypsa, orion hall, bassblaster, etc. Which she had been actively visiting for several years, she had the feeling that she could express her relationship to music in a way other than just through dance. At that time due to her work she was also visiting london where in the same way as at parties in the czech republic she felt a strong yearning to not just participate in a passive way and dance was nowhere near enough for her now. After returning home she told two djs from liberec about her feelings and thanks to them she had her first opportunity to see what it’s like to play an important part at a dance party – i.e. to stand behind the record player. She immediately enjoyed these first opportunities so much that she decided to devote as much of her free time as possible to djing, although thanks to her success as a model she didn’t have that much free time.There then followed work with the naif club in prague where she met local djs and had the chance to rehearse and then play. At this time she also joined the depo9 booking agency which in the eyes of the public placed her among reserve djs, such as lucaso, uwa, teddy b. Etc.She made her first official appearance at her twentieth birthday party on 22nd november 2002 in the naif club in prague. Thanks to the unexpected success she had there she was offered a regular weekly spot at the naif club. And so a new residents’ night was started up under the name fashion djs. This was then followed by various other offers to perform which enabled her to gain new experiences, to see the reaction from the public and to improve her mixing technique more and more.In 2003, by which time she already had not only club events but also larger hall parties, radio performances, etc. Under her belt, she began to vary house records with various other styles and gradually created her own typical sound which includes primarily retrobootlegs with an ingredient of electro sound. Michaela was now receiving more and more attention from the media, she appeared on the front cover of rave magazine and inside there was a four-page interview with her. Also the most popular and widely distributed magazine, xmag, was also very positive in its comments about the great advances she had made in her mixing technique and choice of records. In this same year she also parted with her first booking agency, depo9, and began to free herself from the house pigeonhole in order to develop her own authentic style of music, containing elements of electro, typical vocals, hard beat and even guitar samples. International DJ Hi-Fi Princess, aka Lori Ward, has been establishing herself in the underground party scene since 1993. Beginning in Victoria, Canada, Hi-Fi's love for music evolved quickly into a desire to start spinning. From '95 to '98 she developed a quirky electronic house/tech sound that took her out of the local scene and expanded her territory throughout the West Coast of America and across Canada.In 1998 she headed off to London where she continued to develop her sound. During that time she held 2 residencies in London, as well as making appearances at club 333 Old Street and at various techno outlaw parties. After having been on the scene for six months she accepted an offer for a weekly residency in Luxembourg's Evolution through Luxury U.K. promotions.
