| Musical career of JOSEF SEDLON is closely related with Radio 1 from beginning of the nineties and later on with promoting agency Lighthouse. From the age of 13 he begun to be interested in listening music such a Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, Cure, U2 and lately stuff from labels like 4AD, Recommended rec, PIAS, he also was keen on industrial, EBM, ambient or contemporary classic music. After ´Velvet revolution´ Josef started to be active publicly - he was DJing in undeground clubs and also prepared music programme ´Independent scene´ on state radio Mikroforum in 1990. From February 1991 he became one of principal personality on independent Radio 1 station in Prague. He got acquainted with dance music thanks to industrial/EBM and Manchester/rave scene and from the year 1990 he has played it actively at the legendary 007 Strahov club and Kladno 19 club lately. From 1992 he also did a lot of mixing from CDs and cassettes. DJ breakthrough comes in 1995, Josef starts to mix vinyls and his sets full of acid trance and funky techno gain favour of various underground parties attendants all around CZ. On other hand he was keen on discovering music frontiers in his programmes on Radio 1, where he prepared several different music programmes during week. You could listen to in his sets the blend of very eclectic style: indie rock, jazzy/latin downtempo, electronic folk, avandgard electronics/dance, abstract hip hop and drone ambient. Considering club style of DJ JOSEF SEDLON, he is one of the most eclectic DJs in the Czech Republic too. His sets are full of tribal sounds, progressive breaks but also groovy techhouse, electro and minimal. He always initiates strongly energetic atmosphere, that has the ability to grow up and induce some very strong "trance" experience, who could presented also iin Slovakia, France, Romania and Peru in recent times. Momentarily he attends very much to breakbeats that he pushes forward within the popular Breakbeat Conference session at Radio 1 station. Josef Sedlon was also the owner of promotion agency Lighthouse, which organised big parties, concerts and also dance festivals Open Air Field 2000 - 2003 on very professional level. From autumn 1995 he brought numbers of progressive bands and Top DJs. Live acts such as Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, The Orb, Fluke, Circulation, Spooky, Fila Brazillia, Freeland, System 7, Jaga Jazzist, Biosphere and DJs Derrick May, Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills, Mixmaster Morris, Carl Cox, Josh Wink, David Holmes, Nick Warren, Jazzanova, Adam Freeland, Rocky, Diesel, Layo&Bushwacka!, Cari Lekebusch, Rob Playford, The Amalgamation of Soundz etc. During 8 years the agency Lighthouse promoted more than 70 events in different indoor/outdoor venues and finished with activity in summer 2003. Josef still keeps to be ´international connection´ and last year participated on Big Chill in Prague with acts like Bent, Faze Action, Kid Loco and recently Jimpster. Josef compiled a several downtempo compilations for music magazine U:mix like Taste of PORK, OPEN AIR FIELD and BiG CHILL. He also mixed CDs PURE FUTURE 2001 and PURE FUTURE 2003, which were combination of progressive tribal house and breaks and recently in autumn 2005 BESIP Road Mix with latest breakbeat/progressive stuff. Josef also presented special electro/acustic music DJ set for UK Big Chill festival in 2005, with taste from universal space, touch of glitch electronica, drone music and of course some of chill classics In near time he wants to to concentrate on studio production work with his longtime friend Milos Hajicek as the project Life Kids and they succesfully remixed project Alvik, the track Beat:skip and in the beginning of 2006 Josef with Richard Tauchman together aka Uncless remixed hip hop band DIXXX into the blend of breakbeat and trance.
