Punkrok is a production guise for Birmingham based DJ James Algate, James has rocked venues worldwide with his own individual take on house music should be played over the last few years. The Punkrok alias is the production side that has established itself over the last 18 mounts when a few hours in the studio turned out a monster of a debut track. Before long James was swapping CDR's of new tracks and remixes with the worlds best DJ talent that was regularly appearing at Birmingham home to Godskitchen, Air.

»The first track that come out of the studio was »Sweet Child« which I give to Eric Morillo when he played the club on the day I completed it. Within a couple of months Nic Fanculli was fully behind it and Deep Dish included it in their Essential Mix. I really couldn't have hoped for a better reaction!« Birmingham had a new massive new house scene bubbling just under the surface and Punkrok releases were starting to create waves, within a few months, tracks were signed to Toolroom rec. , two Buzz Chart Top 10's were picked up, critical acclaim came from DJ Magazine and M8, airplay was enjoyed on Pete Tong's Essential Selection and Fergie's shoe on Radio 1 sell out gigs were played all over the world. Punkrok has come s long way in a very short space of time.

With a number of new singles planned for this year, talk of an artist album and tours across the world, the future looks bright. Are you ready to be PUNKROK'ED??
