Q-base Festival

Bunkers, ammunition depots and a huge hangar on a derelict army base, just over the German border, form the backdrop for the specialist Q-BASE festival. The doors will open at 4 in the afternoon on Saturday September 8, only closing 16 hours later, at 8 the next morning. Where we presented all facets of hard dance with a broad spectrum of styles in Defqon.1, Q-BASE goes deeper. Each of the four major music streams within hard dance - Hardstyle, Hardcore, Techno and Hardtrance - spreads across 11 different strategically-situated areas.

Hardstyle will again be found in the hangar this year, with International Hardstyle from 16:00 to 00:00 and then Dutch Hardstyle from midnight to 8 in the morning. Showtek & friends with Today is Tomorrow will also host the daytime section in Bunker 04 and The Prophet with his Scantraxx recordz will take you into the night.

Hardcore will also be in abundant evidence this year at Q-BASE. By day you can get warmed up in Bunker 02 with Oldstyle and Early Hardcore from the 1991-1992 concept. Then Thunderdome takes over on the stroke of 12. You can head for Ammo Unit 03 for a harder workout with Third Movement by day and Darkcore by night with Audio Genic.

Techno can be found in Bunker 03, with Techno by day and Hard Techno at night. For Ammo 01 we have laid on hosting partners Gasten Zonder Grenzen and Berlin's Tresor for the necessary Minimal, Techno and Electro.

Hardtrance has entrenched itself in Bunker 02 (Hardtrance and Techtrance), Bunker 05 (hosted by Ghost Style and Records Mania with French-tec & Belgian Beats) and Ammo 02 (Psytrance with Namasté - Connecting People and Homega Israel).

On the open air stage you will encounter all the hard styles progressively.
