After last year’s success of remixing Green Velvet’s classic hit ‘La La Land’ the Pleasurekraft lads are back with their award-winning brand of Tech-House, this time focusing their remixing talents on Green one’s brilliant “Harmageddon”.

 

The duo have had an amazing time remixing this track and impressed Mr Velvet so much with their idea behind it that Curtis went back into the studio especially to record vocals for them to feature on it.

1.  What was it about Harmageddon that really got your attention that you wanted to do a remix of it?

 

The hook!! As anyone who has been watching and listening to our music over the course of the last year knows - our thing is tech house that has a hook as opposed to just a great groove.  And as soon as we heard that amazing hook in "Harmageddon" with its playfulness and its intrinsically circusy feel we felt like we could do something special with it. 

 

2.  What's next for Pleasurekraft?  What are some upcoming projects you have in store?

 

Our newest track "Carny" just came out and the support it has gotten has been amazing - hopefully our "Tarantula" of this year! Also, just finished a remix of our favourite track from 2010 called "The Antidote" by Style of Eye + Magnus the Magnus. Also, working on a remix for a great catchy track by Australia's Sneaky Sound System called "We Love". After that an original we are working on that is hush hush at the moment. 

3. If you could collaborate with any artist in the world no matter what genre, who would it be?

 

Wow that is so hard to answer. We're going to make it a little more focused and concentrate on the dance scene - something we have already discussed actually with Curtis [Green Velvet] is making a track specifically tailored for him to do the vocals on - we love Green Velvet's unique style and the tone of his voice.  Think it will be an amazing track!

 

4.  Your La La Land remix was extremely popular with the fans, what makes this particular remix unique?

 

Well we love the original - its a classic as everyone knows - and how do you take a fun track about drugs and raving, and make it an audible "trip" expreience? That was the question we set out to answer musically - and when we came up with that Theramin lead melody it just clicked - it literally felt out of this world - like the old 50's Sci Fi films where they used Theramins to make the sounds for alien landscapes or UFO's etc - it was an out of this world sound to go with the theme of "La La Land".  Luckily people loved it! Or so we think :)
