TOP EUROPEAN ACTS READY FOR THE GREAT ESCAPE
Heading up the line up will be Bettie Serveert, adding some girl power to the proceedings with vocalist Carol van Dyk. Making their debut in 1992 with a hard-edged guitar pop sound, the band went onto tour with the likes of Dinosaur Jr, Jeff Buckley and Counting Crows. 18 years later the band are still going strong and continue to evolve with their 9th album 'Pharmacy of Love' which takes a back to basic approach and captures the kind of raw, contagious energy that has long characterized Bettie Serveert's live shows. http://www.bettieserveert.com/
C-Mon & Kypski are eclectic visionaries who proved themselves as genre-bending geniuses on their last album, 'Where the Wild Things Are' which Esquire Magazine fondly referred to as, "The hot shit in Europe right now." Three years on, and with extensive European and US touring under their belts including a highly regarded show at SXSW, C-Mon & Kypski are poised to make a global impact with their latest album 'We Are Square', which captures their exhilarating, daring and category busting sound. http://www.c-monandkypski.com
Moss bring a darker and more intense pop music to the line-up. Their 2nd album "Never Be Scared/Don't Be a Hero" is a master-class of electronic rock in 2010, crammed with incredible hooks and memorable tunes. After opening for the likes of The Magic Numbers and Razorlight the band seems more than ready to stand on their own two feet and to conquer hearts and blow minds. "Never Be Scared..." is released on May 24th and more UK dates will follow the Autumn. http://www.mosstheband.com/
Awkward I is the solo vehicle of Djurre de Haan. His debut "I Really Should Whisper" is a triumph of understated and elegant acoustic song writing, with hushed echoes of Elliott Smith and Bon Iver; Djurre creates songs with strong narratives that have established his name at home and looks set to make waves in the UK in 2010. Djurre will perform with a full band for TGE. http://www.myspace.com/awkwardi
Silent Disco is the biggest and most unusual sensation at festivals around the globe after first appearing at the Glastonbury Festival in 2005. In the summer of 2002 two friends organised a secret party on the campsite of the Dutch theatre festival Parade. Apart from the people that joined them, nobody knew. They did not disturb anyone around them as the party people were wearing wireless headphones. Silent Disco was born. During the event you'll be able to try it out for yourself and listen to the live sets of Bettie Serveert, C-Mon & Kypski, Moss, Awkward I with the Silent Disco DJ keeping you entertained during the band changeovers. http://www.433fm.com/
