SPIRIT OF BURGAS THIRD EDITION BEATS ALL RECORDS

Three is the magic number for the third edition of SPIRIT of Burgas with the 20% more visitors, twice as many campers and opening night selling out for the Prodigy's much anticipated return to Bulgaria.

Taking place from 13th -15th August 2010 set against the beautiful backdrop of Bulgaria's Black Sea Coast, thousands of festival goers came together and partied on the beach for the 3 day festival. As temperatures soared, over 100 artists performed on 7 stages, offering fans a diverse range of music including top international artists who have never played in Bulgaria before such as Apollo 440 and DJ Shadow.

Unfortunately Everlast had to cancel his performance on Saturday due to illness, but the show must go on and local band Wickeda stepped in to entertain the fans. 

 "Playing on the main stage was great, the audience were really nice and we enjoyed it alot." Enthused Wickeda frontman Erol after coming off stage.

SPIRIT of Burgas is the rising star of Eastern Europe and was the first event of its kind in the country offering a variety of stages and diverse range of artists covering all genres of music.  The festival also aims to introduce new and exciting artists who have not played bin Bulgaria before. 

The festival has continued to grow each year and was nominated for'Best European Festival' at the UK Festival Awards in 2008 and for the'Best Overseas Festival' category in 2009. In the same year The Times named SPIRIT as one of the Top 20 European Music Festivals and a program about the festival was broadcast across the MTV European Network in 16 countries.  In 2010 the festival was also shortlisted for the 'Best Medium Sized Festival' category at the inaugural European Festival Awards in January 2010.

Supported by the Mayor of Burgas, Mr. Dimitar Nikolov, SPIRIT of Burgas provided entertainment for local residents and holiday makers as well as providing a creative outlet for the people of Bulgaria, be it musicians, artists or unusual performances.  The Bulgarian Minister of Finance was also a special guest at the festival.

The festival orangisers would like to thank everyone for believing in the event and helping to make it a success and are looking forward to making next years event even bigger and better.
