Representing the sound of Pure Pacha 2008 are the combined talents of 6th year resident Sarah Main and brand new additions to the Pure Pacha family Gold Fish. The most famous Friday night in Ibiza is now in it’s 6th year and, after turning over a new leaf this season, continues to go from strength to strength with this year’s parties shaping up to be the most diverse and hedonistic yet.

Sarah’s mix is a 16 track ride through this season’s musical must-haves that will be tearing through the Pacha soundsystem this summer. Gold Fish meanwhile take a fresh approach to their disc, cramming it full of their own productions and remixes for a rich flavour of what the band are all about.

Sarah Main has been at the very heart of the Pacha Empire over recent years through her long-standing residency at the Ibiza venue and touring extensively all over the globe, spreading the sexy house sound for which the club is so famous. If one individual epitomised the Pacha ethos it would be Sarah with her forward-thinking approach to house music and wonderfully glamorous demeanour.

Her mix opens with the Tomas Hedburg & Tuccillo remix of Richard Grey’s ‘No Deputy’ a track that deploys a contemporary take on the Bob Marley classic and looks set to become one of the summers biggest on the white isle and beyond. Other highlights include the sumptuously string-laden ‘White Knight 2’ by Surkin, ‘Off Da Hook’ by Jese Garcia and Mark Knight and Funkagenda’s all-conquering remix of Laurent Garnier’s ‘Man With the Red Face’. Sarah’s flawless technical abilities are exercised to their full extent across the disc, never missing a beat along the journey through what is new and exciting in house music, 2008.  

South African duo Gold Fish have entered into the world of Pacha amid a frenzy of praise and plaudits following their storming live performances and DJ gigs across the globe. The boys adopt an ‘anything goes’ approach to their performances, regularly making use of a vast variety of instruments to create the improvised whirlwind of sound that catapulted them to fame. With support slots for the likes of Fatboy Slim, Mr Scruff and Pete Tong under their belts it seems fitting Gold Fish have been chosen to contribute to the latest instalment of this famous mix series.

Disc 2 serves as a perfect portal into the realm of Gold Fish, consisting purely of their hotly anticipated original material and genre-bending remixes. The mix kicks-off with the warm atmospherics of Gold Fish’s ‘The Real Deal’, the first of 5 of their own productions. Troydon turns in a funk-fuelled version of Gold Fish’s ‘Fort Knox’ before the disc is rounded off in blissful fashion with Brice Koeller’s remix of the boys track ‘Just for Tonight’. For the real live experience of what Gold Fish are about be sure to catch one of their 3 exclusive Pure Pacha performances this summer.

Basement Jaxx, Paul Oakenfold and Faithless are all confirmed guests for this years parties among a plethora of other internationally renowned DJ’s and performers. With this is mind 2008 looks set to be among the biggest and best for Pure Pacha, a feeling that is embodied in this fantastic 2 disc mix.
